Letting the pot sit on runoff water.

I've been letting the runoff on the little plates below on the pot. I've read yesterday that it was a bad idea and i should remove the runoff and let plates dry. So just to confirm. I shouldn't let the plants sit on the runoff water? Correct? Maybe this been causing my probs.

Water/fertiliaer PH and PPM change a lot passing through soil. Over flowed water can be pretty out of normal criteria. Your setting show 333ml/plant/day. No plant this size can drink 2,31L in a week. Small + regular dose of water produce no waste water. Work on your dosage/per day.

Don't let the plants stand in liquid for longer as 5 hours. And always give the roots their dry cycle. If you let them stand in the wet, root rot will most likely happen. Is rather easy to detect, lift the pot, smell the bottom and if it stinks unpleasant.. voila. If you bottom feed and let the plants finish for a few hours, no problem, just empty the saucer after 5 hours of the ones not sucking up all and feed again when the plant is dry.

Hi buddy I wouldn't put it on the drain :-) there is a very simple trick when you give water. Let it dry nicely, then lift the pot up and remember how easy it is. Then pour it and lift the pot back up and notice how heavy it is now. The next time you water, you will only do it again if the pot is as light as when you started. As a pure beginner, you can also use a scale and note the weight ፦). Keep carrying as before 👍 Your plant is beautiful

Yes you are correct. The main idea of run off water is to flush excess stuff out and if you just let the pots sit in the runoff the stuff will just get sucked back and nothing really goes out. You should lift the pots up and let the runoff drain to pots underneath and then always throw that run off away. 👌
