My girls are 23 days old today! Roots have bust through my 20 litre smart pots. I'm staggered by the speed of them. I do however have a question for seasoned growers..... I have quite a lot of alge/green growth on the smart pots. Is this going to cause me a problem?

Green alge is fine, it can actually be used as a food source for the plant. Black mold is bad, if you see any black mold dispose of the plant immediately and totally sterilize your grow room/tent. Good luck 👍

Hi, Ifound probably the reason for your "algae-Problem", did you dig the cuttlings whith the Rockwoolblock?. I remembered me on an article in an RQS-Blog...I found it here are the passage about Rockwool ...........................................CUBES, CUPS, AND SMALL CONTAINERS Rockwool cubes and blocks are made for hydroponic growers. Start your seedling in a small cube and it couldn’t be easier to transplant later. Simply cut a cube-sized chunk out of a larger block and insert. The process can be repeated with minimal stress to plants. Unfortunately, rockwool is a really bad idea for soil growers, even the smaller sized blocks. Invariably, the block retains more water than the surrounding soil. Green, sludge-like algae growth soon becomes a problem. Sure, sometimes you can get away with the tiny cubes, but why take the risk?................................................... I think thats the reason for the algaes....... but if Dude says its ok then i Will believe him.. we will see. I hope the Dude is right.. Happy growing

nah it's kinda normal, i had it happen on one of my plants, it freaked me out though at the time so i get how you feel. Still though, you want be safer rather than sorry. but in a way it can be considered "companion plants" so you're good !
