So i put the seed in spring water and at first it sank and i thought it was a dud but then it rose back up to the top. is this good?

Yes, you want it to eventually sink (become saturated and loosen the outer shell). But until then they should float. Normally about 18-24h it takes.

Are S1 fem seeds better/worse than regular fem seeds?I received a pack of freebie Violator Kush S1 seeds.
