Removing "suckers" on autoflowers

Gnugs87
Gnugs87started grow question 3 years ago
I have these smaller growths on the lower part of my plant. They haven't really stretched out at all. I read that these smaller growths can suck available energy for the other buds. Can I cut these or just leave them and forget about them?

I do not defoliate or prune "suckers", especially on an auto before flowering. As long as a leaf is getting light let it grow. When a plant gets the size of yours I might prune some of the lowest to make watering easier and improve airflow on the bottom. But, do not go crazy. Leaves are the solar panels that power everything so keep as many as you can. Then when flowering starts I will tuck leaves under that are shading bud sites. When it is well into flower I will prune leaves that shade buds but again, less pruning is better. Keeping more leaves on the plant, especially near the bottom is a good nutrient reserve for the plant and a good indicator to you of nutrient problems. Sometimes with a deficiency the plant will rob nutrients from the bottom leaves giving you a early notification that you need to do something.

Si dices que la planta está estresada mejor no seguir molestándola con podas ya entrada la floración. Te darán una punta pequeñita, pero bueno mejor eso que seguir estresando a la pekeña 💚.

Hello if these suckers get good light leave them but if you want to concentrate energy on the main branches you can cut it but before flowering. So it is in your hand. Goog luck

That is a wrong idea, the plant needs all leaves to produce energy for growing. And otherwise it just doesn't develop but it will never steal energy from itself. In every leaf is photosynthesis so it gives energy. Defoliation is only required when leaves are above buds, to ensure the buds get more light and to ensure to don't get mold in the last weeks of flower. If you lst her some more you will see that she will shoot the suckers out in the air if taken enough light. Good luck, looks good.

Hello yes you can cut all this kind of suckers because when you will be in flowering the light don't go deeper and they will consume energy of you plant. So cut it in order to concentrate energy on the main stem and big secondary branch. Good luck
