Trichomes cloudy VS clear

Planning on waiting about 2 more weeks, but this being my first grow wouldn't mind some opinions on the cloudy VS clear ratio - I don't see any Amber yet but again I'm new. Also - I think this is a cool picture especially if you've imbibed recently. Make sure you zoom in!

Very early still/ indica or sativa? There’s really 4 stages of trichome development, clear and thin, milky, cloudy, then amber. Depending on stains like indica you can harvest at the cloudy stage and get more of a cerebral high, or push flowering a little longer till 60-70% amber, this will give you the couch lock effect which Indicas are know for. Sativa sate a different beast I use the pistil method. I have think the literature cure suggest 60% pistils change. Hope this helped

It's 100% indica, I'll keep the below comments in mind - I'm in no rush to harvest. Also this picture was taken directly with a phone camera. I was going to get a magnifier from amz but its 1 day delivery so just haven't yet. Giving the "answer" to the last comment - although they all were very though out and good food for thought. Thanks all!

Too early yet. Bit of you look really closely you see some that look "full" that is the "cloudy" trichomes.

Hello, Going by the trichromes is the most accurate definitely, but another good indicator of harvest approaching is the pistils. Your pistils in this photo look almost entirely white, once they start to turn orange and shrivel up that's going to be a good sign to be looking more into the trichromes. Once the plant has at least 50% or more i think you'll see much more color changes start happening in the trichromes. I saw one that has a slightly amber look, but you wanna be seeing mostly milky(80%) and then many amber ones, more than 20%.

Assess them on a swollen bract and you need ~60x (think 30x is all that focuses on the cheaper $5-7 loupes) can't tell in the photo from trichomes, but does look to have at least 2 weeks. there's an occasional amber, but you can find amber early, if you look early.

From what I can see there's a few amber on some of the sugar leafs.. which is normal they mature faster. your right at about that 2 week flush point of 70/30 milky/clear. Great pic.. Love those Macro shots! Happy Harvesting! 👊
