Reducing PPM without changing water in hydro

Thanks all for guidance on my previous question. As a follow up, can PPM be lowered by reducing feeding until they hit the right range? Currently 1500ppm but seems this is too high. Currently following the AdvancedNutrients plan.

Hello again buddy.. Personally i wud just add plain ph'd water into the res.. If its full take out half and replace with said water, wotever it reads out at is not important in 1st 24hrs..once ur res has been adjusted check her either 12hrs later(ph may of slightly changed) then at 24 hrs.. This will b my go to reading as uve allowed the res to flow over her roots many times and shud have diluted correctly..if ur reading is to high for wot u want make a educated judgement on how much to remove again.. If u got room in resjust simply top up with ph'd water(always 5. 5-6).. Another trick is never let ur res tank get to empty.. In hot weather ur plants will consume more of tge water and leave behind a kind of super concentration of nutes in res.. This is why hydroponics can get difficult sumtimes.. It can b very easy to overfeed.. Check ur ph and ppm every day if possible to see exactly wot ur plants are getting n at the right times.. Stay safe n gud luck.. 👍🍀

Either way u present the answer. The correct answer would be dilute your nutrient solution/concentration. But ur better course of action would be to do a rez swap . Make sure to test tds of soloution before re filling your reservoir. I like to mix my nutrient solution test ph ... balance it... check tds range.... than apply. If u know what's in there now u have a good idea how much not to use lol.... sorry just little humor. Happy growing and stay lit fam (both prior answers are correct in there own right.)

I honestly don't even pay attention to my EC or PPM... I don't really use a schedule per say I just change weekly.... The only way to lower your ppm is by adding water but it's not basic math like nobody is presenting it's a lot more complex.. if you empty the tank of 50% of the volume and add fresh water you don't drop the ppm by 50%.. I don't know why he gave you all the math and over information..

Add 0ppm water to reservoir. It will be proportional. if you need to reduce ppm by 10%, the current tank needs to be 9/10ths of new total amount.. so you add 11% of volume (1/9th) and it will now be diluted 10%. 5/10L =50% original concentration. adding 1/9th to 10L is 11.1111L 5/11.1111 = 45% you have to same parts, so you need to modify the denomenator appropriately. :P easy, right? Just add water only slowly and use your meter ) if you keep the same tank size, you'll start getting used to the ratios as they will remain constant.
