Just cut my fan leaves 😳 the stems we’re turning people, if I’m not mistaken it’s an early sign of an old leave that’s not as efficient in the photosynthesis? and it was covering the new growth, Or should I have waited?

purple petioles (leaf stems, not major plant stems/limbs) turn purple due to P-deficiency among other things. Some plants simply have purple petioles. If it is healthy otherwise, i'd levve things alone. Consider your recent behaviour and info not present here before taking any suggestions, of course. Exposure of the stems to stong light can cause some color to come out, maybe the petioles too? have to google that one. but if only the top ones, becomes more of a plausible idea too.

The other three are from another just from the bottom. But the big ones if you zoom in you can see the stem turning purple. Or did I do this to early? Thanks 🙏🏼
