Start in a small pot, then move to one that's twice as big; some even transplant a third time if needed. Each transplant should be into a pot that's twice the size of the previous one! Begin with small pots that have good drainage, preferably fabric pots, or make plenty of holes in the bottom of a regular pot. Add 2-3 centimeters of drainage at the bottom (washed clay pebbles or a layer of perlite)! Transplanting from small to large allows the roots to develop better and fill the future larger pot!
