No reason it wont work. Throw it in the hydro pot and add some expanded clay pebbles to fill in the gaps. You would only have to keep an eye out for mold, but that's pretty standard with grow blocks anyway.

Yes.. works well. Just need to keep the air under the block and attentive watering to keep moist during the time roots are getting to nuits. Otherwise no issues.
