As a first time grower keep it simple as can be. I would go with something like biobizz light mix for the very young plants in small pots which should not need any feed and only water then once they show roots transplant into a bigger pot with bio bizz all mix soil which is has a higher amount of feed already in which again will only need water for the first 3-5 weeks of growth depending on pot size. Also with bio bizz you don’t have to ph balance your water unless your tap water is over 7.7 which most are not. Also you don’t need to worry about watering till loads comes out the pot (run off) as bio bizz advises you don’t need to. Then it’s a simple feeding regime where you can get a good result just using the bio bizz grow and bio bizz bloom. This is the most painless simple and straight forward method that I would go just to find your feet while you do some more research👍

My personal opinion is that 50:50 coco/perlite with daily drain to waste feedings is the way (done both soil and coco). Keep it simple with the nutes early on with your standard base nute and for additives I personally like AN's bud candy for carbs, and big bud for extra bud development. Substrate and fertigation are massive topics with a million hot takes on them but this is what has been working for me lately. Here is some additional info and enjoy getting at your first grow! https://www.growweedeasy.com/whats-the-best-cannabis-growing-medium

I recommend Canna Terra Professional or Canna Terra Seed Mix. Terra Professional has plenty of additives in it for the first month or so, so you will only need root juice and rhizotonic. Seed Mix is a much lighter soil which will require you to start adding nutrients in a much earlier stage than with Terra Professional. For example, I have seen RQS Bubble Kush Auto grow very well in Canna Terra Professional. I noticed a slight clawing in the leaves caused by an small overdose of Nitrogen from the soil. If that occurs, flush your plants to get rid of the excess Nitrogen. Good luck and happy growing!

I think it could take hours to type a truly good answer to this question. There is a galaxy of possible choice, the best advice I can think of is to deeply analyze your growing condition, the amount of gears, time and effort you want to put in in. And since is the first growing I would suggest to play it simple with regular soil (and even there, more choices about the soil EC, i personally think it is easier with a low EC soil). Nutes has the biggest galaxy of choices but there too go simple with the basics either you choose mineral or organic. Best of luck with your grow!

Hey friend, This is an extensive topic to discuss on a grow question. I would do a little research to see what starting point interests you the most. There are soil blends out there that are a great way to get into growing without headache. I have seem amazing results from fox farm products, when I grow in soil, I will start there. Premixed soil blends can yeild results with very little additive, if any. Realistically, it is not that hard to make your own organic mix, you just have to look up what cannabis plants like. Your local gardening store should have everything you need to get you started. Hope this was useful,
