Hello everyone, I have a question on cation exchange. I want to use hydrochloric acid as a PH down. However I want to know how this will affect my plant. In water the chloride ions create the acidic environment however I do not know what will happen in soil and nutrient uptake.

That I wouldn't do. If need a cheap pH down solution use 🍋 lemon juice. 1tbsp:1gal = 1point.

Hey friend, I was also facing with high pH soil and high pH run off.But I don’t use any pH down solution or hydrochloric acid.I use coconut water and egg shell with vinegar(Protect from bloosom end root and calcium deficiency). They have so many benefits for your plant.I always adjust my water pH to 5.5~6.5 with those two above whenever I water and I don’t having any problems after that even though my run off pH still around 7.0.Before it was 7.7~8.4.Hope it will help.Happy Growing.. ✌️
