How far can my 600w HPS light be and still result in good growth?

Without an air cooled hood the light to canopy distance should be between 12 to 18 inches (30 to 45 cm)

Heya!
a 600W I would say should be no further than 20" away during flower. That would be around 700par according to most 600W HPS manufacturers.
Lowest I would go is 12" with gooood ventilation.

LED lights for veg-Viparspectra xs1000I have the viparspectra xs1000 light. I turned up to 50% intensity and plant is about 30cm from canopy.
