Will nutes degrade if left in the sun for a week?

Nutes- If I mix up a gallon batch (fox farm grow big and big bloom) but only use half of that gallon, can I save the rest for the next feeding, which might be a week later? Also, is it ok if the jug is left outside where it will get sun, or will this ruin the nutrients?

Hey Mate, I wouldn't want to do that If I were you. Ask your Nute-Producer for the durability of the products you use... they should know best. If you do store it, then I would choose a dark and cool place for it. Hope this helps a bit, cheerz. OimRausch

Thanks OimRausch, I contacted Fox Farm and they said it can be kept in a cool dry place for up to 48 hrs. Any longer than that and you should mix a new batch.

You can use it, but it needs to be stored in a cool, dark space for that week. Out in the heat it will cause chemical reactions among the nutrients which will form molecules your plant can't use. You could also end up with microbe colonies that will devour your roots. Cool and dark, or dump it.

Ideally your gonna want to store it in the house away from sunlight and heat, and don't store the nutrient mix for too long, use it past a week or two but not longer than that. Make smaller batches of nutrient mix if you don't use it all at once. Hope it helps and if you don't mind chosing answer it helps a lot in grower of the month competition. Thanks and good luck growmie.
