Hey DWC people, what volume is best for small indoor grow? And How do you measure the volume, is it the volume of the solution or the whole pot?

What matters is the size of the reservoir. I fear that 5 liters will be too small; the problem you will struggle with is that the daily intake of solution will be a large percentage of the total reservoir volume, which will make the pH quite unstable; you might want to buffer it; that is dump both pH down and pH up so the pH will not change so easy. Good luck.

I suggest 12l of water in your DWC at least. You will see MANY PH problems doing only 5l unfortunately. You will have to PH twice daily to 5.8 PH. With 5l you will have to do this multiple times a day minimum. Mixed your water and nutrients very well before PHing them for the best results. I hope this helps! 😎

Volume-wise you're right that smaller volume will lead to smaller grow, you should measure the "whole pot", aka the reservoir... but i think i'm seeing problems already, the seedling is not doing well, you want to check that PH, and make sure that seedling is getting what it needs, i would try to save it, but it looks like it will be stunted as it is, and i guess that it will stay small because of that. Just see for yourself ! 🚀
