Ok so my plants grew bigger than what I was expecting. Doing hydro could next time I just cut back some on nutrients? I used what I got as a recommendation from nutrient manufacturer.

Heya! I wouldn't do that especially in hydro as it can quickly lead to plant deficiencies. Typically they say to flip when you're at half your desired height as it will stretch significantly through the beginning weeks of 12-12. Another thing you could try is before flower, tie all the branches down to make the plant shorter. Good luck and cheers!

Cutting back on nutrients in a hydro setup will lead in deficiencies in no time! Not a good idea! Unhealthy plants will give weak buds and are prone to diseases, Cutting back on vedge time or starting 12-12 from seeds will give you smaller plants.

Next time, flower a couple of weeks earlier. - Or, only do one plant, and top it to fill the entire space. You'll probably get the same yield as two plants anyway.

you just have to plain it all better, you gave the plants everything they needed, the plants store all this energy in veg, one thing that will keep them shorter is a smaller veg cycle, try 5 weeks next time, as well as possibly one less plant, you can also top plants, this means around the 4th week or so in veg you cut the area growing off, right above the leaves, your plant(s) will grow several tops while remaining much shorter, each strain is different in the stretching phase of the first few weeks in flower, some stretch like wild beast, and some get bushy. the bushy ones are the indica and some hybrids, these strain stay smaller, for instance a good indica can veg for 6 plus weeks, and when they get topped they stay smaller. now the stretchy beast are usually sativas and some hybrids, these strains will grow tall and skinny. either strain you choose, just remember sometimes less plants so you have room to top, or tie them down., so all in all use an indica for a shorter plant, or less veg time to keep plants shorter. your plants look happy and healthy so you got that part down. there are you tube videos you can learn from, i have some diaries that where topped, tied down ect, when you feed your plants too much they looks sick and unhappy
