I'll never grow autos again- at least indoors. I thought that it would be a nice experiment and maybe get some good herb in a short amount of time to smoke while I'm waiting for my photo period plants to mature. The result is subpar herb that took my time, space, nutrients, electricity, and soil without a decent return. The plants were completely healthy throughout harvest. The genetics were trustworthy. The trichomes looked ripe. It smelled great. I dried it, cured it, and it is just not impressive at all. I used the top of the line (at the time) 550 v2 Rspec lights from HLG.
i49 says auto BB is one of the strongest autos around... I guess if you are growing outside and can let it get good and deep and have plenty of sun and water it is nice to be able to get more than one harvest in a season... if the weed was worth smoking.
So IMHO no amount of high quality lighting is going to make up for subpar genetics... which is exactly what ruderalis is...
Use photo period plants, Period. They will give you the best chance at getting great results even with smaller lights- you just won't max out your potential.... kinda like driving the speed limit in a Ferrari... it's still lots of fun compared to the 10-year-old minivan I'm driving now... lol. Good luck.
