Can I use tap water once (or twice?) in Organic living soil? Plants are in flower so still needs most of the soil goodies in the next weeks. A good watering is about 2gal. They are in 15gal pots. Will using tap water once or twice gonna kill the microbe and fungus?

Sure, I water my plant with tap water. Mycorrhiza survive intact. If you want to play it safe, you much want to let the chlorine in water to evaporate overnight. Note that my tap water is pH neutral.

A little precision: Tap is about 75ppm. I know about chlorine and chloramine. Chloramine will not evaporate. What about a one time emergency watering (no rain water available) ? Is it enough to ruin my soil?

Hi! Yes ofc you can use tap water in it. How hard is your tap water? (What is the Ec?) If there is lots of Ca and Mg you might want to cut those littlebit and also for chloramination you can either let the water stand before using it or use Vitamin-C in your water. Ascorbic acid and sodium ascorbate Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and sodium ascorbate completely neutralize both chlorine and chloramine, but degrade in a day or two, which makes them usable only for short-term applications. SFPUC determined that 1000 mg of vitaminC tablets, crushed and mixed in with bath water, completely remove chloramine in a medium-size bathtub without significantly depressing pH

You can use tap water for the whole grow, but it needs to be free of chlorine/chloramine which is what will kill your microbes. A water report will show if you have any levels of these. If you only have chlorine and no chloramine, then you simply need to fill a bucket with water and let it sit out for 24 hours to off gas. If there is chloramine in your water, then you will need a filter to remove it.

Hello sativaman, Check the water reports of your community. If the tap water contains a lot of nasty stuff it might kill microbes and fungus. Otherwise it should do no harm. Good luck with your project, I wish you all the best! 👽
