Hydro may yield more "product" once you serve your apprenticeship in "hydro-ology", which can take years, but for quality, you can't beat sunshine and soil. I have been growing in soil for 35+ years and find indoor hydro "product" disgusting and an offence to my senses. These days I refuse to even think about ingesting anything hydro. I see too many friends with weird coughs and horrible lung inflammations each and every winter from smoking that stuff constantly. I also, when I did smoke it, found it as not being the "whole package" with disappointing effects that were missing "that something" that comes from sunlight and that can not be replicated with electric lights. Most of my friends think I am a "bud snob", but I am not going to ingest something that has been grown with dubious chemicals by people only interested in making "product"/profit and not flowers so fine that they should be cherished and that were grow in gardens with love. If you are mainly interested in "commercial" turn-over, hydro is the go, but invest big in your lights, very big, they are the most important factor in cannabinoid quality. If you are after tasty buds to boast about and made with love, grow with soil, but again, if indoor, invest big in lights. Either way, there are no short cuts, learning is a life long process, with lots of mistakes mixed in with the successes. I still learn every time I grow, even after decades doing this for purely medical reasons. If you are after meds, outdoors, in soil, sun and organically is THE only way. Hope this helps,............ Hi, now I have read through the answers to your question and I agree with all 3 in their own right, will hydro grow me a high yielding plant, yes absolutely, will Coco, yes, Soil, yes... To me like Bulbi says, dialling in nutes, environment and getting the fundamentals "right" will have a more positive effect on your grow then simply switching style and starting again from the begining, all the best 👍

hey there Hidden, honestly you can taste the difference, hydro will have a clearer taste, soil will have a deeper more complex taste. Most people like soil-based grows taste, but some like hydro better. better yield is there, but the technique to get there in hydro is a bit more difficult, just check on grow diaries you will see 9/10 hydro grows actually grow SLOWER than other medium, coco is usually the fastest. That's because most folks dont do a few very hydro specific techniques. Same with yield, lifecycle, potency etc. whatever you choose to do there will be a fair amount of learning involved , you know, so dont expect to outclass your previous results on the first try, it's all about the environment and dialing it in. Hope this helps ! 🚀

My experience is that hydro is easier to keep everything under your control. I grow both but like hydro better because I see faster growth and I can go away on a trip for a week at a time and know my plants are good. All it takes it getting the right set up that your comfy with

Yes. Instead of just getting what nutrients the soil has to offer, you're able to give them the right mix of what they need for the growth stage. When done right, hydroponics results in bigger yields, year round crops (which in turn leads to more harvests and more product per year).
