Trying to find a definitive answer as to why, * 4 days no water and in total darkness before harvest. I expect this is to stress the plant to fully bloom, but not sure. thanks in advance.

The idea is to convince the plant she is dying so she will put as much energy into the flowers as possible. Theoretically, she would do this to increase the chances of pollination and you would reap the benefits in the form of more potent bud. Unfortunately, this is all really unproven and a lot of people think it damages the final result. In the end, its up to you to try it or not.

Not watering is good because you will be able to dry the buds quicker, since the plant will have less water in herself due to the medium being dried out. As for the ''cold water'' and ''dark period'' there is 0 evidence to back it up, same goes for flushing. Its basically all bro science.

The concept is to stress the plant and make it think it's time is up. Same with applying cold water to roots during fade time or stem splicing. Various other techniques. When the plant is stressed it produces trichromes to protect it from anything and everything. Good luck and happy growing. 🌲🌲🌲👊

Long periods of Dark before harvest stress the plant out.. But there is a whole bunch of "poor" information about what stress does in Cannabis.. All forms of stress do not cause the plant to produce more THC.. This is a crazy idea when you think about it really is. "Stressing" anything without understanding what happens from that stress is counter productive. The only thing that I know improves THC and Terp production is LIght stress and it makes absolute sense when you think about it.. Stress the plants from Light not from other external factors that are unproven and quite frankly don't make any sense. So the biggest factors going into how your buds are in in order of what I feel is the "most" important factor is 1. Light 2. Water 3. Nutrients. 4 Harvest Time. Curing and Drying are another science altogether but those first 3 factors have the biggest of an effect on the quality of the product.

Hello normally some growers do that because they say the plant is going to absorve the rest of the nutrients from the leafes but I don’t really have sure about that, I prefer not to do it.
