When I start LST how long should I keep the plant tied down vs. lettin her get some stretch in?

When I tie down, It usually stays until the last week before harvest... they will still stretch...

Lower leaves too pale or yellowing?I am noticing the lower leaves of my Royal Critical Automatic to be much more pale green than the top of the plant.
