6" c' filter adapted to 4" Cloudline fan?

Has anyone mated a 6" carbon filter to a 4" inline fan? AC Infinity is OUT of 4" filters, so considering getting a 6" and adapting down to 4" intake on AC Infinity Cloudline. Seems intuitive, since reduced intake restriction would be preferable, with increased life as a benefit.

go for it.. The only thing with larger filters is extra cost.. but you are right in that the life cycle of the Carbon would in theory be a bit longer and the filter would be less restrictive. When I was at the grow store we had some Massive size carbon filters.. And really the only thing we would recommend against is the other way around.. Ie a 4 " filter with a 6" fan would cause extra stress on the fan. Also I have an Ac Infinity and it's a boss setup.

AC infinity is great, but there isn't that much difference between brands honestly. It's all just charcoal and a cylinder. I would get a different brand before trying to adapt like that.

I’ve thought about doing the same thing...it would work! Go for it! Just get the adapter from Home Depot! Keep us posted ✌️🏼❤️🌱

Yeah it would work but you would need to buy an adapter 4 inch to 6 inch to connect the filter and fan together. I use 6 inch AC infinity fan with an adapter to a 4 inch rhino filter . That's not recommended but it hasn't failed me yet in a year and half. Can also get some good negative pressure in a 3 x 3 which helps me control the heat and humidity better .
