Tiny White Bead-Like Structures on Surface of Leaves - February 3 (Day 30)

GardenSchoolstarted grow question 3 years ago
My plants are beginning to grow tiny white bead-like structures on the surfaces of the leaves. They look like trichomes, but I am only in week four of veg. I want to make sure this isn't some kind of mold starting. Does this look normal? Thanks!

To me they look like trichomes starting, which would be awesome, as she will be "super trichome city" come harvest time. Don't know how magnified this picture is, but the almost perfect spheres do resemble early trichome development. Mould or fungus would look more like a "spider webby" growth with irregular shapes and coverage. Worst case scenario, which just occurred to me, is that they could be insect eggs of some description. Watch carefully and closely!! Maybe some more pictures, normal and magnified, with size being identifiable, would help immensely with any further advice. Hope this helps,.......... Organoman.

@ORGANOMAN - This picture is about 250x, it was taken with a microscope. I just uploaded some new pictures for more context at 100x and 3x respectively (can't figure out how to edit this grow question to add more pictures). Over night even more of these things grew and now the leaves are covered in them. If these are trichomes already I hope that's an indicator these plants are going to be frosty. I think you may be right though, as they aren't web-like and they didn't spread overnight into patches, instead more individual glands grew further out on the leaves. They're actually really cool looking. I have been reading for hours trying to troubleshoot this and what I came up with is certain genetics express more "sessile glands" which are basically just trichomes. Maybe someone can chime in to confirm this? Thanks for your input, man. Really appreciate it.

Check out my champagne mimosa diary. It shows you what powdery mildew mould looks like. I don't think this is...

Spero riesca a risolvere! buon grow!
