Take them off when you are harvesting . Don't see the point in stressing them late flower.

Everyone has their opinion. Some people remove all of the fan leaves mid-flowering. Although they swear by it, their results are always less than impressive. I think of the plant like a big battery and the fan leaves are like battery chargers. I only remove fan leaves in specific cases: To open up airflow and help reduce humidity To remove infected or dying leaves To allow light penetration to lower bud sites To remove leaves that have become "sinks", which means that they consume more energy than they give. These are leaves at the bottom of the plant that don't get enough light to provide sufficient photosynthesis Stick to these guidelines and you can't go wrong. Don't be afraid to venture out and try different techniques though!

PART TWO - Seeing as you are close to harvest, leaf removal will slow maturation and possibly cause a major metabolic shock, which could induce unwelcome side effects, such as male flowers or stagnated ripening. Your plant will ripen her fastest and with better terpene and cannabinoid content and quality with all her healthy green leaves left on. Hope this helps,....... Organoman.

Taking any healthy green leaves off will just reduce your plants capacity to produce the energy she needs to grow her biggest and best. Try only taking any yellow leaves off, for by the time they are yellow, they have served their purpose. Personally, I only remove the leaves after the plant has been harvested and dried. Your flowers will be better protected and dry more effectively with less degradation of cannabinoids and terpenes if leaves are left on whilst drying. They will also dry faster, due to the leaves providing a much larger "surface area" for the water to escape through, rather than the water having to escape entirely through the buds, which can also remove some terpenes and accelerate cannabinoid break down. If your plant is still in growth or flowering, leaf removal can result in slower and/or smaller growth. So, remember - maximum amount of healthy green leaves = maximum energy produced = maximum growth. This is basic plant biology that, in my opinion, advocates of defoliation techniques fail to fully understand. Hope this helps,....... Organoman.
