3 sets of fan leaves per node on newly topped plants.One cola on each of the 2 recently topped grape punch plants in super soil have started growing 3 fan leaves per node.

The center is crowded and there's not much light penetration or air flow there, though I do have fans going. I'm tempted to defoliate some older leaves crowding the center. Topping very bushy plants with low node distanceThis plant is very bushy already in this stage, is this normal?
I wanted to top them and ask about the timing, if its right or not, but it's getting hard to count the nodes and take photos , because there is so much in the way.
