Hi mates ... I feel so lazy to defoliate this little 5 weeks girl.... It's an auto ..(1st week of Flo)
will it be fine like that ? Or I'll I loose a lot of bud ?
Leaves are the bread and butter for autoflowers and they are more prone to stress due to their given lifecycle. When I run auto's, the plants have been awesome at dropping leaves where they naturally want to be dropped to allow light in. With auto's - it a necessary to learn the tuck and fold skill to allow deeper penetration through the canopy. Eventually you can take the lower side brances, the little wispy ones and lay them over the top of the more mature ones. In about 2-3 weeks you will be happy you didn't defoliate as they will spread out, heighten a bit and have more room.
Your plant will be happier with her leave and will increase yield, not decrease it.
Every leaf you remove will reduce her potential to produce energy, meaning slower and smaller growth.
Hope this helps,........
Organoman.
Those tests mean nothin mate, too many variables to do side by side grows. I did the same, 2 zkittles, same light, tent etc. Defoled 1 heavily, and the other not at all, difference was 3 grams. Non defoled plant got me 3 extra grams...
I watched someone do a test once where they grew 2 autos, one was defoliated and one was just left alone to grow. The one that was left alone yielded way more than the one that was defoliated.
