Yes it can be done, but in this case it's too late since the plant has reached sexual maturity (it has shown pistils) and will begin to flower and topping is not recommended at this point. Anyway, autos begin to flower once they have fully deployed the 5th pair of true leaves, so what you can do is to top repeatedly at the first node (similar to mainlining), that will keep the plant redeploying the first node, while multiplying the colas.
