Distilled water containing ozone

Tubington9

My wife came back from the store with distilled water containing ozone, is this safe for my plants? I’ve read lots of pages and half say yes, half say no, so I figured I’d hit up the community itself for information! Thanks

If you're growing organically do not use that. Ozone kills bacteria, as well at the bacteria in your soil.

I am growing organically and have been using melted (clean/freshly fallen) snow, we’re at that time of year where it will be difficult for me to continue finding fresh snow or rain, so i guess i will switch over to bottle spring water for the time being. Thanks for the input everyone!

I would recommend never giving distilled water to any plant, due to the risk of "reverse osmosis" sucking dissolved minerals out of your plants' cells and causing burning/leaf damage. Hope this helps,.......... Organoman. Strangely, half of the respondents to your question say yes, and the other half no!

Yep. Fine to use. If your worried ypu can leave it open for a few hours before using. Any of the gas that may be dissolved in the water still should evaporate off

Ozonated water has been treated with ozone gas (a form of oxygen that is very reactive) to kill any organisms that may have been left by their filtering process. Similar to treating it with UV light. It should be fine for your plants.
