Keeping it for one month before transplanting would severely limit its growth, with maybe a popsicle sized plant, and by the age of one month, would be starting to, or almost starting to flower, not an ideal situation as you would most probably end up with only enough bud for one or two joints. The biodegradable paper/cardboard cups aren't all that good either, they take too long to break down and allow the roots freedom. Buying a square plastic pot of around 5 litres and that fits in your PC Box, then planting your seed straight into the 5 litre pot would be best for the plant and best for the yield. Each time you transplant, the seedling takes a few days to recover, so transplanting 3 times would mean around one week of lost growth. Combine this with one week at baby seedling stage and one week recovery time from the multiple transplants would only give two weeks or so for vegetative growth before flowering started automatically, due to the plants age, resulting in rather small yields. So really, starting directly in a 5 litre pot or so and not transplanting, will potentially give you the biggest returns. Hope this helps,......... Organoman.

So I found a plastiv pot that fits about 1.5 l soil, and cut out the bottom. It's gonna be an experimet. I got auto fat banana, and I guess ingot a bit too excited starting germination process not considering my other girl is still taking up all the space in my 35x35x70 mini grow box and has about another 3-4 weeks left till harvest. So fingers crossed that the timing will work out and I'll be able to transplant my fat banana to the 8L fabric pot before she starts to flower. 🤞🙏😬

@gmslave that's what I had in mind :) but was thinking to pull the original smaller pot (with cutout bottom) out through the top once in the new soil (bigger pot). Or would that already shock the plant?

Just cut the bottom out and plant in a much bigger planter with it still in its original planter. Roots will grow out into the new planter with no shock to your plant. Cheers

I read about this system in another forum: For each plant, use two solo cups. Cut the bottom out of the first one and cut it all the way up one side. Make a drain hole in the bottom of the second one. Stick the first one inside the second one. To germinate, put barely damp soil in the cup, add seed, spray 2-3 times. Once germinated Let them get a little on the dry side before CAREFULLY removing from cup and dropping into hole in pot. Sounds like a good idea. Only thing is that i was planning to keep the seedling in the small pot around 1 month before transplanting. Or would that be way to late for transplanting? I would of course use something bigger then solo cups. Basically, anything that would fit into a pc grow box. The whole reason I want to transplant is that the main fabric pot i have is 8Liter size which doesn't fit i to the pc grow box. Any tips or ideas in this matter?
