topping only after 3 nodes that means let it grow 4 or 5 nodes... then top above the 3rd

Can I clone and mainline that bit I topped?Hi guys, if I top my Amnesia, I mean, literally top them, Like straight cut at the 4th node, maybe? and leave the other 3/4 node above..
