Is what in particular normal?? Your pictures show flowering as to be expected. The droopy old primordia/preflowers on the main stem are normal. The reddish/purplish stems are also of no concern. Furry/hairy stems are normal too. Defoliation during flowering, or at any time really, is not normal, your plant needs every leaf she has to make the energy required to grow her biggest and best flowers. She would not grow the leaves if they weren't needed. Please post another question if you would like a specific item/perceived problem to be answered. Cheers, Organoman.
