Do AIR POTS make a difference

Has anybody on the home-grow level actually seen benefits and improvements to their grows, from using Air Pots or Pruning Pots as they have been called. Finally I was able to puchase a few to start with, and am looking forward to some smaller applications with them.

Oh shit, I just have to mention a major drawback with those white refuse bags I used (like i dunno what material it was, seemingly some kind of cheap degrading plastic). Since it's weaved, and it degrades fairly rapidly, the problem is it can get quite messy, like bits of weaved stuff breaking off, and lots of it...so while they worked really well, there is that fairly significant issue. But a similar sort of weaved bag (with better material), would probably work really well.

WOW, awesome responses. ThAnKs And I agree with all of you pretty well. Love fabric pots and have used them for years now. Here in Kanada, I still had to but 4 to get 1... thanks sir_isO for the pics, i will definitely check them out. And the comments about the thicker Stalks, all help make it seem logical. And So does drilling holes ... lol vs spending the bucks. Im doing it for a couple friends; 0.8 gallon air pot and an Alaskan Purple house-plant challenge. Feminized Looking for a decent tray to catch the “run-off” Thanks all

The best pots I've used, were white weaved sort of garden refuse bags. Though I've not tried smart pots, coz I can get like 50 other pots, nutrients and shit for the same price. The weaved shit automatically meant good aeration, some root pruning (coz they don't entirely block uv). It being white also helped a lot in summer here (coz it's super hot, I grow outdoors and black pots get excessively hot, though I use them, coz that's what I got). The thing about those refuse bags, they were like 0.60usd each. and they only last for about a year/one season (depending on conditions). Definitely the best pots I've used though. Had a 3.5m plant in around 75l soil in one of those pots. Here's are some pics of the roots of that plant: https://ibb.co/YZyb1f8 https://ibb.co/yVSvnnx https://ibb.co/Jmr5cKp Oh and for practically no watering, I used the inner of a box of wine (that mylar like shit) to excellent effect a few times. It's a bit ghetto, but if you do it right, it works super well. That wine box inner was excellent in winter, btw (very dry and cold here) coz it insulated so well.

They work fine and are top for Roots. Personal downside is the Watering but patience solves that.

I use fabric pots and I tend to go larger than many and I set them on a plastic stand so there is airflow underneath. After the grow is finished the entire pot is completely full of roots. You do have to water more often at you get a lot of evaporation through the pot but on the plus side it's extremely difficult to overwater.

Valid question 🤔 so for few years I seen these air pots in my local shop always just used standard plastic pots or pb bags till a friend gave me his to try. So I did some research on air pruning an air pots on what there pros sn cons were im no genius so all I could gather was they promote a different root growth one that doesn't just rootbound at the bottom. personally I found as I use mycro-max mixed in my coco when I harvest I still had a solid block root mass no different to standard pots however my stems were 2x fatter in the air pots..not sure if I harvested much more then usual there over priced you can get same results buy drilling 10mm holes around your pots. Providing the right climate your plant an chosen soil can maintain a consistent temperature in,an applying the right amounts of water there capable of uptaking daily I think you can almost equal results in any pot or bag. They do look cool tho lol 😆

I'm really debating moving to air pots. Don't really trust my auto system and prefer to hand water. I am noticing slight root oxygen starvation in my recent grow and I'm not interested in buying a noisy air pump. After watching so many video I'm 100% behind the air pot. Good luck and happy growing

Si!
