Your a little early. You want to wait a little longer for spacing between the sets of leaves. So you put an anchor tie below the 1st set and then another tie under your top set and slowly pull that down. Won't be long before you can start maybe 3 or 4 days.

I normally start training when the plant has 3-5 nodes. Sooner than that and there simply isn't enough plant to work with unless it's unusually tall.

Well FML, pop goes the main stem.Trying to bend a little bit more, then that dreaded sound, "pop". Like snapping a fresh carrot it is the sound of heart break.
The tie had likely weakened that part of the stem, shouldn't be so aggressive.
