Is it fine to cut off some of the big fan leaves this early or should i just tie them down to expose the tops to more light? If defoliation is fine already please let me know which leaves can be cut off, and if not i also kindly take advices on tying them down. Thanks!

Hello Blaze, Being the size that they are and how short they are, I would suggest using LST with some clips to not necessarily expose the inner working to light, but to jolt them into action. However, they are very uniform, and very compact it may behoove you to let them grow naturally for the time being until a dominate branch tries to assert itself. When it does appear, you can top and try to create a manifold, LST to limit the amount of stress and recovery time, or a combination of the two. For instance, in my current grow I am in transition from veg to flower and using a SCROG net. To maintain a semi even canopy I use LST or even clips to bend the branches about 90 degrees and remove once the stretch is over. Whatever you do use clean tools and consider how hard the material is you are using during LST. Many a time I have partaken of my own fruits and tied down a branch, only to find it a week later super cropped and growing around the string. Finally, if doing LST and moving your ladies in and out of your tent to possibly feed etc. be careful of your tie downs and how taught the line is, again from experience I've broken multiple cola's by unintentionally judo chopping the line while moving a pot. Id suggest possibly yarn, with a slip knot in a bright color so it's hard to miss, and never bend a branch that doesn't want to be bent. Over the course of a night or a day it may super crop itself before growth stops. I hope this helps!

I wouldn't take any leaves off such a small plant, you will decrease its ability to grow. Just remember......... Less leaves = less energy being made = less growth = less yield. Defoliation is not a required/necessary "technique" when growing cannabis.

Until it switches to flower it is by all means a "weed" brother, bend it break it top it, don't be afraid to foooook around and get a feel for things. In the end I found it's better to leave defoliation alone, watch how the plant develops ,watch how lower half starts to yellow by itself during flower. Plant become quite sensitive to stress in flower, the idea is to defoliate what the plant would eventually defoliate itself, we try to expedite. Each leaf is a net that captures photons of light also allows CO2 intake and perspiration, each one you remove reduces the total photons you can catch in the proverbial net. All I ever got from defoliation was reduced yields until I observed and experienced what a plant does on its own and use that as a guideline. Good luck.

be systematic. spread out the damage. Usually have problems in similarly structured areas (symmetrical growth etc). inward facing leaves near the trunk are good optiosn to prune early -- you know it will grow into trunk and cause congestions. The ones perpendicular to that, i may take off 1 from each in an alternating fashion to reduce overlap as much as possible with least amount of leaves removed. spread it out... be systematic... the structure is repeating sequence... form-fit pruning to that concept. Remember.. less is more. leaves are important to power growth. you want as many as you can keep and not the opposite.

Got you, but what if the stem is too strong to bend, should i have started earlier, and i can probably still try to bend it as much as possible and just bend it more and more right?

I would lst it, and then cutting out center leaves so light get inside better. Leave any leaves that ate not shading the inside of plant.
