Excessive leaf growth during flowering

I am growing two autos (Orange Punch and Lemon Kix, both by Dutch Passion) side by side under a single 2000W Phlizon LED. Both are in week 8.
The LK looks fantastic. The OP is starting to develop a lot of leaves now. This happened to my previous Orange Bud Auto as well. Why?

All depends on the genetics. The orange bud probably has a high leaf ratio. If you grew another it would probably do the same again. When you have stable genetics you could grow 4 of the same seeds and they will come out very similar, not identical. With unstable genetics you grow 4 of the same and each would look wildly different from each other.

Orange is probably a indica type. Which grows small and bushy. Sativa genetics grow tall but skinny have a look on the website to see the genetics of the weed your growing. Mabie this will help you understand more.

Defoliate or not yet?The breeder (AutoSeeds) says they work better if you don't LST to much and focus on the main cola. Should I select a few of the large leaves and defoliate them to get more light in the middle. Just don't want to pick the wrong ones. Hope I have enough images to help you help me.
