What’s the simplest way to understand parts per million? 1 gallon of water, ph 6.86 ? I took multiple readings of the run off water from different spots of the tray and finally ended up pouring all the run off into a cup . The plant is about 90 days old. Week 7 of flower.

PPM is a non standardized measurement. its a calculation from EC electrical conductivity. the calculation is ec * PPM scale. this scale is usually 500,650 or 700 depending on the manufacturer. Minerals and Nuturents in the water make the water more conductive and give a higher reading. Since you poured the water in the cup you mixed some stuff that had settled and that is why you got a higher reading.

Coco grow: the EC of my runoff is consistently 0.2 mS/cm lower as what goes in (1.1 in at this time, runoff is at 0.9). Also, PH of runoff is at 5.8, while 6,5 goes in. Is this a problem? What causes this? Its been 8 days since germination and they look healthy.
