It does nothing that can be confirmed as effective for all cannabis plants and grown in every condition. I do know however, that extended darkness will slow a plants metabolism to basically zero, and a zero active metabolism can not prevent THC from breaking down. As this is a rather stressful technique, I ask myself - why would anyone want to stress out their plant after weeks/months of careful growing and right before harvest?? It is also completely unnatural. Hope this helps, Organoman.

Hey buddy, I did this test but I'm still the same as you, I really didn't notice a difference since I did this test with a cutting while with others I didn't. Where I do think it influences is in the timing of the cut, at night our plant releases terpenes and so it would be good to cut when the plant has had 12 hours of darkness, but if it changes a lot after 48 hours then I wouldn't know what to say, maybe looking into machinery to conduct a THC test and get some chemical results where we see it has 2% more THC compared to others, but until I have something like that I don't know, there's also another curious thing, which is the cold water flush, doing the wash with almost ice-cold water to create stress, making the plant think it's winter and in this way making it believe it needs to produce more THC to protect itself, there are several myths like that but anyway...

If i werent so lazy rn i would look up the Scientific Paper wich described the effect of a prolonged dark period right before harvest... They tested diffrent times with clones and control groups wich basically found out that you get an increase of thc levels but a fast decrease if you put them to long under darkness. If i remember correctly you get the most increase (up to 4-5%) of THC with a darkperiod of 48 Hours. So i stick to that until someone presents me with a better paper disproving this ACTUAL study 👻 Also the only counterargument ive heard so far is basically: ,,Well I myself didnt feel any diffrence dude so this must be bs...😩,, and yeah i know you smoked the dankest Kush and hardest Haze by now but unless your brain starts pumping out provable numbers i have a hard time just accepting your judgement...dont get me wrong but were in a foggy buisness here and clarity is scarce.👽 cheers😽

I have not had a noticeable difference. I've also tried putting ice around the base of the plant before harvest and noticed no difference. --- Were you wearing night vision and spying on my cat? On FLIR she looks demonic!
