Hey there growmies...does anyone know what this is? It looks like splitting. Is this normal? Also, what are the chances of major root damage if I pull the stakes out now?

That is the knuckle to your branches. It is swelling getting stronger to support the plant growth on those branches. There is no real chance of root damage removing the anchors. I would leave them. Keep lst the branches outwards. With it being topped you wanna stretch those arms out. Will provide a great foundation for plant to produce more buds. Just takes time. I honestly don't see why everyone thinks minor root damage is so bad. The point is stressing the plant so it ups its defenses producing more trichromes. They never seem to worry when they top or defoliate, hst, etc. So the anchors don't worry me on root damage. Good luck and happy growing 🌱🌱🌱

100% normal. Check out my Harlequin Mainline/manifold grow out. It's got really bug splits on the stem because it's super thick. Your golden
