When and if I should defoliate a little?

So i am going into week 5 here soon on my auto flower and its getting pretty bushy, i'm starting to see signs of sex with calyx producing pistils, can i defoliate to make sure she gets all the light she can or would that stunt her at this point??

Removing a few fan leaves to let light in won’t stunt growth all that much. It’s topping and some other high stress techniques that really delivers the pain to the plant. I mean don’t go crazy and remove all the fan leaves but look at your plant and strategically remove the leaves that hide bud sites from getting nice light. I also remove the jankiest looking leaves first when I defoliate. That’s if you have janky looking leaves. Hope that answers your question. Cheers!

LSD Auto - Defoliation in veg?I'm defoliating progressively the plant, this means that I remove a fan leave or two after LST. 4 in total until now, to increase the light exposure in the buds. Most of what I've found is controverse, a kinda 50/50 fight between the 'do' and 'don't do' it. Opinions? Thanks 😎

Northern Lights Auto, quite short and bushy, fan leaves shielding light - should I defoliate?First time grower with a quite short Northern Lights Auto in week 6. The fan leaves seem to shield a lot of light from the inner leaves, also touching ground. Should I trim the fan leaves? I do not like to defoliate but this plant is very bushy, opinions advice on whether to defoliate a little bit or not? trim auto for compact grow (space bucket)I want to focus on a few colas when growing this compact, 5gal bucket is max width. Should I leave the 4 or 5 fittest and trim the lower branches off entirely or just let the taller dominate and avoid stressing this auto (space is the obvious issue here)? 🙏thanks community.
