Only defoliate if fan leaves are blocking future bud sites. On your diary, it looks like you have 5 main tops. If you look in between the center one and the top two, you'll see another cola trying to poke its way through. These potential tops are probably in between the center and the outer tops. I would clear off the fan leaves blocking them. Remember that the leaves are your power cell, you want to keep as many as possible. Only defoliate with a purpose. Open up those tops to light and save as many fan leaves as you can.

Can you do a paint rework(Microsoft/Linux paint base soft) and paint on red what you what to defoliate and take pictures of some other angles ? Two fan leave I see here but by getting them down didn't seem other leaves will get more light, as isn't an auto and of you can loose some veg days can be a worse idea but if you want quicker results it's may be a great idea but show us what leave you wanna to cut off.
Faster growth in the parts of the plant you want – you’re getting rid of unwanted parts of the plant, and the rest of the plant will start growing faster in response (since it doesn’t have to spread its energy, it can focus just on growing the parts of the plant you want). Better structure to take advantage of grow lights – Defoliation can help you create a better structure to start flowering by allowing you to create several main colas (prime bud sites), and get rid of colas that are unlikely to produce any significant amount of bud.
