MrStinkyanswered grow question 3 years ago Best way to set it up is so that your are delivering the correct ppfd to your plants.
For autos this would generally be 350-600ppfd at different stages (it also depends on whether you run 18 20 or 24 hours a day)
I would follow the manufacturere guidelines which are 100% power
75cm above seedlings
60cm above plants in veg
45cm from plants in flower.
Now that would probably melt your plants, so I would base it on ppfd as you can deliver ppfd low power and close to plant or high power and further away from plant.
Mars will include a ppfd map in their manual so you are looking to deliver a max of 620ppfd 18 hours a day or 550ppfd 20 hours a day to get into the sweetspot of providing 40DLI for a healthy veging and flowering plant, for seedlings start at like 300ppfd - 350ppfd and increase as they develop.
The fun part you have is now finding out delivering enough (but not too much light) at what height and percentage you and your plants prefer.
