So your 1000w light is really 185w. For babies, 22"-30" should be fine. Start up higher and if the plant begins getting stretchy and lanky, move it down. For the first 2 weeks, I wouldn't go lower than 18". Also, when you get the right height it will look like your plant has slowed down growth significantly. Don't let this bother you. It's developing strong and naturally as it is focused more on a root system right now. Best of luck mate, and if you get another light I recommend a quantum board like the Mars Hydro TSW 2000. It's only about double the price of your king plus and well worth it. Even the TSW 1000 would be much better and cost about the same as your current fixture.
