I tried to top 2 plants in the same way but one main shoot stopped growing, but the other had two new growths come right out of the old stem, as well as 2 bushier side stems. I am just wondering what I did differently and if both plants should work out fine. Video to show...

Looked like one might of been cut slightly differently. Light stimulates growth. If you do not want the extra growth cut it off. Plant will be fine. It is just adjusting to being topped. So it will try growing any way it can. Good luck and nice little ones. Happy growing 🌱

I asked my aunt who is a botanist - she may be out to lunch as she has no experience with Cannabis, but she said: "in the second one you probably didn't get all of the meristem or terminal growing point. took away some of the apical dominance but not as much as the other."

Hello don't worry your plant will work out fine . topping is stressfull for the plants maybe the second needs a bit of time to recover but we see you have 2 new branches so they will grow. Maybe when you cut the new stems were not devellop so much. It will just take time but your plants are healthy and you topped them good. Keep doing it great. Good job. Bye

New nodes after topping very small, should I top more?I topped my plants a few days ago, but just the tips when the side nodes where just as little as a few mm. I've seen a lot of you topping like a whole bunch of the top. I mainlined my plants but I dont know if I should top them again so the nodes under the top become main nodes.

Is it bad to top an autoflower at this stage?I accidentally broke off the top of the plant while attempting to low stress train and now it came like this, kinda like topping.. is it bad to stress the plant this much since it's an auto on week 5? Light distance and when to top?I'm using a 300W LED. What distance should I keep the lights at now that I've transplanted and the plants are doing well? I'm thinking 24" and then move up as they grow until flipping. Also, when should I top? I've read that waiting for 6-8 nodes is the right way to go.
