Hello all. Right now I have my seedlings in small pots with fox farm coco loco. I went to get more soil and they were out of the coco so I got ocean forest. Once their big enough can I transplant them into the ocean forest? Also can I use a 50/50 mix of the 2 soils? What ph?

Yes, coco is inert. So it hold air as well. I would add course perlite for drainage like 20 percent at least. You will be in a hydro soil at that point so strong irrigation and lower ph will be required. Veg like a 5.8 ph, and flower a 6.3 ph. Would wait till plants are stable before switching, also will need cal mag about a 1ml to liter with coco in play. Good luck and happy growing 🌱. Obviously this may need fine tuning on your ph as you go. Just it no longer gets dry and those levels are where I would start. 👍

Keep in mind that coco loco has amendments already added in it. If you look at the bag it says it is coco coir, aged forest products, perlite, earthworm castings, bat guano, Norwegian kelp meal, oyster shell and dolomite lime.

I grow in 3 parts Ocean Forest & 1 part pearlite including the germination and sprout stages. I have never had to adjust the pH of Ocean Forest and I water with 6.5 pH. I find growing in soil to be very easy and forgiving. I'm not sure how you'd do it with half coco and half potting soil. Do you treat it more like a soil grow or more like hydro?
