"Flowering time" vs "Flowering"???

DaBeers
DaBeersstarted grow question 2 years ago
For example I look up Afghan Kush Ryder. The overview says "flowering takes 45-55 days" and then in the description part it says "Flowering - 70 days". I assume it means once you reach the flowering stage it will flower for 45-55 days and harvest in 70. Am I close? Thx!

@DaBeers hi mate the only real way to know when to harvest ya buds is by checking their maturity with a jewellers loupe which is used to check on trichome development the time frame suggested by breeders is pretty much just a gimmick because it all depends on the environment the plant is grown in as well as many other factors take their advice as a guide only and check ya buds as they grow

I would go strictly off breeder info.. GD is incorrect in a lot of the accumulated information on here.. for example - I grew a strain with ~35% cannabinoids as provided by the breeder, however grow diaries info on it says 35% THC.. so they incorrectly transferred that information.. if that makes sense. That said, breeder info is often off a bit.. it looks like a short flower so I’d say you’ll be looking at around 50-55 days

Some take into account preflower, the stretch as flowering days. I start count from the time their actually flowering. They can take 2 to 3 weeks to start full flower, so add that onto your 45 to 55 days, that brings you to around the 70 day mark.

I would not use grow diaries information. I get it straight from the breeder. https://www.worldofseeds.com/eng/afghan-kush-ryder.html Given this is an autoflower, 70days is accurate, that's whats on the breeds webpage. What Growdiaries might mean is it full into its flowering stage by 45days??? doesn't matter bad info. Theirs two systems in place for calculating harvest time, one for photoperiods and one for autoflowers in regards to breeders suggested harvest times. They are also not the best thing to use in the world. they are ballpark figures, some plants fall in that range others don't, you need to judge this on a plant by plant basis and look at trichomes for harvest time. Autos are veg+ flower = suggested harvest time Photos are flower only = suggested harvest time This is because you can veg out a photoperiod plant for as long as you want. the only factor that determines if its going to flower is the light cycle. and If you look at autos suggested times on a breeders site they tend to be longer then photoperiods because of this included veg time. Google trichome cannabis chart and look at the colours of when its ready to harvest via the trichomes. Best of Luck and Happy Growing!
