When to start counting weeks/days of flowering?

Do you start counting from the flip to 12/12, or a couple a weeks after when the buds sites show? I forced my girls to go to flower with the flip & I'm working out my rough harvest day and when to give my final bloom n ripen supplement. I don't want to ripen early this time.

being a mostly outdoor grower I got used to counting the flower time from when the plants actually began flowering so I use that method indoors as well reason being some strains can take a few weeks to begin flowering after the flip which will make it look like a longer flowering strain when it really isn't that is my thoughts anyway

I count day 1 immediately on switching to 12/12. I stop feeding 2-3 weeks before harvest based on the breeders recommendation, keeping the "release rate" of your fertilizers in mind (slow or fast release: all fertilizers have "release rates", even natural fertilizers like bokashi and FPJ/FFJ: my personal favorites. I harvest only when the trichomes tell me they are ready, keeping the breeders recommendations in mind. I pull all at once because I don't have any extra climate controlled space to dry my lady's outside of the grow, but I've heard of strategies of staggering the harvest (chopping the tops first as they mature faster), in order to allow the lowers to mature more.
