Hi guys, my first ever grow here. Strain is BCL Critical XXL Auto grow in DWC hydroponics., she around 5 weeks. if anyone could tell me if I should defoliate the lower branches? Like the one shown in the picture. I think they don't get much light, so I want to cut away.

Not sure about autos. But I would definitely get rid of some of the lower big fan leaves, and also the big ones directing into the middle of the plant. Only puts more energy into the buds and allows more light to get in there !

Hello Tuanmuda2k21, How are you growing? Your plant looks very health and and fresh. Have a look at lollipop technic, I'm applying this one in my currently crop and the results are good. I'm cutting the 2 firts nodes of each steam, from the bottom up. like in the second picture. I hope the grow well. Well done so far 👽

Personally, I don't recommend defoliating autoflowering strains at all. They will get stressed, and they do not have time to recover. This will lead to stunting and yield loss. The maximum that is recommended to do with autoflowers is to remove yellowed dead leaves, if any. And, if you want to give more light to the lower branches - LST. But just be very careful not to accidentally break it. There is simply no time for wound healing and recovery from the resulting stress in autoflowering varieties. Good luck!

The small leaves below can go. The plant itself shows you this by not growing any more and remaining small.
