How much water do you put in a bucket? I’m just using a air stone, basket and bucket. 1/4 1/2? About to transfer into bucket, my last one got to much water. How do you prevent over watering in a 5gal bucket?

Keep basket moist until roots reach water then as roots grow water level should be lowered so roots are stretching to touch water. Leaving majority of roots dry

Yup.. it’s not as much a matter of how much per bucket but how much of the roots are covered. As NB said - a few inches below net pot is good. Seems you have way to little in there. Also agree with the light penetration issue he referred to.

airbubbles in bucket? (like an aquarium airstone or soemthing DIY with soem tubing works well enough too) and fill to 1-2" below basket... i'd lightproof that bucket in future... aluminum foil or paint the outside.. soemthing. gonna get slimy much faster than it should.
