First time I grow. I would like to test something. I would like to harvest one plant when pistils are 50% brown (bc on site of RQS they tell me this is good for a energetic high) and the other 90% brown for a couch potato high (as I read)
Or am I being dumb?

You can always try harvesting on different times to gain the knowledge what you prefer for in the future.
But you better check trichomes above pistils to be accurate on right harvest times.
Same here just harvest in different stages so that you can find your perfect high.

I'm with Hashy here... you're not dumb at all and I ALSO go by the trichs as they are a more reliable indicator.... if they're 100% milky, you'll get your energetic high, when about 10-20% of them turn amber, you'll get your energetic but relaxing high... and if they're more than 30%, you'll be on your couch. I think it's important to take the read off the trichs rather than the pistils and I'll tell you why - I just looked at someone's grow where all the pistils were still white - but the trichs showed up to be all milky... it just happens sometimes (different strains? different conditions? different genetics?) that the pistils are lousy at indicating the state of readiness to be harvested. Buy yourself a jewlers loupe (inexpensive!) or a microscope (much better but more expensive) so you can truly see what is going on with the trichs... It will be important if you know precisely what kind of a high you want to get from your grow.

No your not being dumb. It's a case of finding what high you prefer. I usually go off the trichomes on the buds and look for 100% cloudy.

Bud rot???Tips of Northern Light buds turning brown and dying. They just crumble to dust. I've cut away all of what I can see to be affected. I've read it's likely bud rot but I've always thought that would be more moldy looking. Just don't want it spreading to other plants. Any thoughts?

Any advice appreciated I have found small amount of mould on top cola and removed whole bud, crop now?I have a bit of mould on a top cola and cut the bud off, checked the whole plant over and cant see more. I caught it early. She is in her last week of flowering and I cant improve the cupboard conditions of 80H at night or put it with my main grow as shes a hermie. Crop now or?

Bananas on top of 5 buds - week 5 of flowerBananas appeared on 5 Chemdawg flower tops and were there up to 5 days. Should I be worried that GWS next to it may get seeds from this?
Removed them but I'm scarred now they may have pollenated the same buds, or worse, the GWS next to it.
