This is normal top buds mature faster than lower ones because they get more light. You’re at week 8 and already seeing amber on the tops. You have two options: harvest the tops now when mostly cloudy and amber, and leave the lowers for another 1–2 weeks to catch up. Or wait for the whole plant and harvest together the tops will have more amber but the lowers will be more mature. Since the breeder says 10 weeks, you’re on track. Check the lower buds in 7–10 days and decide then based on what you want more couch-lock or more cerebral

There's always a gradient between top-to-bottom. It can be exaggerated by giving too much light on top colas, too -- a greater difference in ripeness than normal. Whether or not that is part of tis context you can decide. Regardless, always good to use more than 1 observable thing to decide when to harvest. If the calyxes are no longer adding girth and the pistils are rusty and 'look' short or starting to curl up, that's when you want to bother scoping the trichomes - on surface of calyxes only..(seems to be the case in the pictures, but mentioning it to be safe). There's a lot of personal preference that goes into exactly when someone harvests. If not sure, you'll have to try various methods and visual cues until you consistently get what you want... and learn what you want along the way. The lower buds will always be a bit behind the upper buds. I focus on the portion of buds of the highest quality... i don't pay much attention to anything too low on the plant that will just be put into the bubble hash pile. Each to their own.. that can make a difference as well as several other personal preferences.

I’d wait especially if the buds are still swelling and packing on size. I do see a few amber trichomes, but they’re not spread uniformly all over the place. The amber ones I do see look like they could be in positions where they’ve been touched or otherwise disturbed. If you ever touch the buds intentionally to move, inspect or smell them, or if you bump them when reaching for other areas such as during pruning or defoliation, the trichomes that get disturbed tend to turn amber. This is especially true for the sugar leaves protruding from buds. If that describes your situation or practices, the amber trichomes in your pictures may be simply due to localized handling. Try looking for a bud (not a sugar leaf), or portion thereof, to examine that is out of the way and pristine. That may give you a clearer assessment.

hello my friend Don't rely too much on the isolated amber trichomes you see at the top, because in your photos, the vast majority are still very translucent (clear) or barely milky. The few early amber reflections are often due to the degradation of the resin under the direct effect of heat or the intensity of your lamp on the peaks. have a good end of harvest ❤️

Hey DuschkabinenGrow, don't rush the chop just yet! Often the trichomes on the sugar leaves turn amber way faster than the ones on the actual buds, which can be super misleading. Since your buds are still swelling and you are seeing a lot of clear trichomes alongside the amber ones, she definitely needs more time to reach her full potential. Those 10 weeks from the breeder are usually a solid baseline, so give her those extra couple of weeks to fatten up properly and let those clear heads turn milky. If the top buds finish much earlier, you can always harvest them first and let the lower ones bake a bit longer under the light to catch up. Just make sure you are checking the calyxes and not the leaves when looking through your loupe. Keep it up, you are almost at the finish line. Happy Growing Growmie🌱
