Dairy has more info but, having nutrient issues and watering problems. Water 3-4 gallons everyday in 20gal bags with soil and it’s about 90+ degrees out. First problem is am I under watering? I never get run off even gave 5gallons each yesterday and nothing out the bottom.

Your girls are huge and hungry. When my plants are around this size I'm usually giving 5 to 6gal per day. A topdressing of compost or worm castings is probably not a bad idea to replenish what they've eaten a bit. I also use saucers on the bigger ladies to water around once a week to let the soil wick the water up and avoid any dry spots. Don't let them sit in it, but in that temperature it shouldn't stay long.

You've answered your own question.... if you're not getting any runoff, you're not giving enough water. Here's what I do - I put a saucer under my plants and I water/feed until there is significant runoff... then I wait for about 1/2 - 1 hour... if there is still liquid in the saucer, I dump it out because you DEFINITELY do NOT want the pot to be sitting in water as you'll rot out your roots ... but if not, I know the plant has needed it and soaked it up. I continue giving it water until there IS some liquid left that I have to dump. You may be in this type of situation... if you haven't been giving enough, it might take a while for the soil/roots to absorb what you're giving her and truly soak itself... but you'd have to be awfully strong - or have a couple of mates who can help you lift that pot after it's completely drenched. But then you'll know just how much she needs every time and be able to give it to her. Good luck.... this heat is making EVERYONE'S grow a bit difficult as we ALL need to adjust our routines!

I say water until you get runoff. That's what I always do and it seems to work out just fine. You might want to mix in some food as well. Nothing that is nitrogen rich if your plants are budding. Something with an npk of 2-10-6 would be perfect. If it isn't budding, crank up the N. I hope this helps.

All depends what substrates in the pots and how fast draining it is. Problem with pots and no run off is some nutrients leave behind salts that build and don't get flushed away. Oh and moo 🐄👍
